Producer Advisory Committees
About
The National Pork Board Producer Advisory Committees provide strategic guidance to the NPB Board of Directors on key industry priorities and Pork Checkoff investments. These committees bring together pork producers and industry stakeholders to offer insight on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities affecting the U.S. pork industry.
Each committee is chaired by a member of the NPB Board of Directors and supported by NPB staff to ensure effective coordination and alignment with Board priorities.
Purpose
Committees serve in an advisory capacity, providing input across six focus areas: Swine Health, Domestic Marketing, International Marketing, We Care®, Human Nutrition, and Innovation & Pork Quality. Members contribute expertise to help inform programs, initiatives and long-term strategy aligned with producer needs.
Time Commitment
Members serve a two-year term and participate in four meetings annually, including two virtual and two in-person. In the inaugural year, terms will be staggered, with select members serving a one-year term and others serving the standard two-year term.
Selection Process
Committee members are selected annually through a competitive process. Individuals may self-nominate or be nominated by others or state pork associations. Final selections are made by NPB based on experience, qualifications and committee needs.
